Lincoln Snacks New In•dul•gence Line with HazelnutsLincoln Snacks Company ($100 million annual sales) prides itself on quality ingredients and indulgent flavor combinations. The maker of Fiddle Faddle and Poppycock recently launched In•dul•gence, a new product line of indulgent, sweet nut clusters. The product is available in five flavors. Each is loaded with premium ingredients from around the world, including dry roasted Turkish hazelnuts in In•dul•gence, Chocolate Crush. Why hazelnuts? Cheryl Szego, Director of Marketing, Ubiquity’s Brands, says consumers are familiar with hazelnuts, and the rich-flavored nut fit the companies strategy of creating indulgent, decadent clusters. Szego is an avid hazelnut coffee drinker and felt the popularity of hazelnut coffee (the #2 flavor in U.S.) would pique consumers taste and be the perfect fit for the product. This is the first hazelnut product for Lincoln Snacks. The product has experienced strong consumer response and successful sales. In•dul•gence is available in 3.00-3.5 oz packages that retail for $3.99. The products launched March 1, 2007 and are available through grocery and drug stores nationwide. In•dul•gence is “created by women, for women” and lends a helping hand to empower women in poor countries through CARE, a leading global humanitarian organization.
